On January 17, 2012 Interpipe and Italian general contractor DANIELI Company successfully have begun hot testing of the manufacturing equipment at the Dneprosteel Electric Steel Smelting Complex (ESSC). During the first melting 100 tons of steel billets were produced.

Steel pipe and railway wheel company Interpipe has entered into a restructuring agreement of its debt portfolio of USD $887 million. Completion of the restructuring will allow the Company to focus on the development of new markets and modernization of its production assets and in particular, commissioning of the largest electric steel melting complex in Eastern Europe, Dneprosteel.

Interpipe NMPP has implemented this year’s largest project on energy efficiency improvement by commissioning a new turbine compressor produced by Samsung Techwin Company (Korea). The principal objective of this investment project is to reduce the consumption of electric energy in the production of compressed air required for pneumatic equipment operation.

Interpipe has launched two new production floors for scrap processing at Dnepropetrovsk vtormet. These facilities are equipped with a shearing press produced by AKROS (France) and scrap re-loaders made by Sennebogen (Germany). The production capacity of one floor is 16 to 30 tons of scrap per hour.
